ABOUT THE ARTIST

Clay has always been my favorite way to make ideas real—it’s messy, hands-on, and endlessly satisfying. I started working with clay when I was a kid, just for fun, and it’s always felt natural to me—like an extension of how I think and process the world.

(here’s a pic of me with dad and my first couple of pots)

I use both wheel-throwing and hand-building in my practice, depending on what the piece calls for. Switching between the two keeps things engaging and opens up space for exploring different forms and ideas for me.

Most of my inspiration comes from the people around me, things I’m interested in, or whatever I’m currently fixated on. I tend to get obsessed with small details or random themes, and ceramics offers a way to translate those observations into something physical. Whether it’s a mug, a bowl, or a sculptural object, the goal is for each piece to feel thoughtful and approachable.

What’s most compelling about ceramics is how it blends form and function. There’s something meaningful about creating objects that integrate into daily life—a cup used every morning, a bowl that becomes part of a routine. These quiet interactions between people and objects are what make the medium so rewarding.

Currently, I’m exploring ways to bring more texture and narrative into my work, drawing from personal experiences and cultural references. The process continues to evolve, shaped by curiosity, practice, and the ongoing discovery that comes with making.
